Founded by William M Cobb in 1972, Coastal first operated out of a rented 9000 square foot space on Atlantic Blvd. with seven employees.

“We had no customers, no income, no guarantees of any kind. Suppliers that looked at us with a lot of skepticism due to our lack of cash, and banks that love to loan money to folks who already have plenty of money,” states William M “Bill” Cobb, Coastal CEO and founder.

Through the dedication and hard work of Cobb and other key employees, Coastal was able to weather those early days until landing what was, at the time, the largest account they had ever had, the now defunct Scotty’s DIY chain based in Winter Haven.

“Our employees have always been dedicated to building the finest shower doors available,” says Cobb.

After a series of moves and expansions, Coastal now operates out of the largest shower door production facility in the United States, a 250,000 square foot plant in the St Johns Industrial Park. With production of over 1000 units per day, Coastal is the leading provider of shower doors to the nations Recreational Vehicle and Manufactured Housing markets as well as the residential housing, boating, and hospitality industries.

With the doldrums that the economy has seen in the past four plus years, Coastal has changed with the times. “We are in a unique position of being debt free and have had to adapt to the new economy by becoming leaner and more efficient,” states Cobb.

Boasting a trucking fleet of over twenty five tractors and trailers as well as fabrication / distribution centers strategically located in Atlanta, Houston, and Charlotte, Coastal is well positioned for growth despite these lean economic times.
